What makes a park worth visiting.

We score every park on the same six questions. Most don't ace all of them. That's the whole point.

    Fencing & gates

    Fully enclosed or not. Double-gated entries. Whether the latch actually works. For a flight risk, this is the only field that matters.

  2. 02

    Water & weather

    A fountain that runs in summer. A spigot that drains properly. Real shade when it hits 95°F. Not decorative. Survival.

  3. 03

    Room for different sizes

    Separate small-dog yards. Enough acreage that large dogs can run without flattening the Chihuahuas. Sightline management.

  4. 04

    Surface & drainage

    Grass vs turf vs decomposed granite. How bad it gets after rain. Whether your car seats will survive the ride home.

  5. 05

    Community & vibe

    Regulars who know each other's dogs. Weekend crowds versus weekday quiet. The social character, for better or worse.

    Upkeep & trust

    Trash cans that aren't overflowing. Poop bags actually stocked. Signs in plain English. Parks that respect their owners.
