Edgewater Dog Park
All-grass lakefront run, off the Lakefront Trail
About this park
A well-kept fenced park wedged between the Lakefront Trail and Lake Shore Drive: all grass and woodchips, no concrete, with shade trees and plenty of benches. It doesn't usually get crowded, so dogs have real room to run.

Edgewater Dog Park reviews
What visitors consistently sayReviewers repeatedly call out the soft grass-and-woodchip surface (rare in Chicago) and the tree cover. The size and low crowding make it feel expansive by city standards.
Best for
Before you go
Access is only from the Lakefront Trail. If driving, park near Lawrence and walk in. Water bowls are set out but there's no fountain; bring your own water to fill them.
