Happy Hollow Park Dog Park
The free, no-membership option, with trails out the back gate
About this park
One of the few free public dog parks in the Lafayette area, with a double-gate entry and a low animal water fountain inside a single mixed-size enclosure. The grounds get muddy after rain, partly because the water area sits near the gate, and maintenance can lag with tall grass and the occasional broken fixture. Walking trails run from the park for a longer outing once the dogs have burned off energy.

What visitors say
Synthesized from 104 Google reviewsFree entry and no membership requirement set it apart from most fenced parks in the area, and the double gate keeps escape artists in.
Reviewers consistently describe friendly dogs and owners, and there are usually people on hand rather than an empty field.
Best for
Before you go
Wear boots after rain; the area near the gate turns to mud. Tack on the adjacent walking trails for a longer outing after off-leash time.
