Mill Pond Park
A fenced yard with a swim-out gap to the river
About this park
Saline's neighborhood park, a short drive south of Ann Arbor, with a fenced dog yard at the back that opens directly to the Saline River so dogs can wade in to cool off. A large open lawn, playground, and pavilion sit between the parking lot and the dog area, making it an easy combined family stop.

Mill Pond Park reviews
What visitors consistently sayThe river-access gap is the standout feature, letting dogs swim out and back without leaving the fenced area. Almost no other dog park in the region offers the same setup, and visitors regularly call out the friendly patrons and well-kept grounds.
A friendly, family-oriented crowd that often combines a stop at the dog yard with the playground or pavilion. Saline locals dominate the regulars, with Ann Arbor visitors making the trip mostly for the river-swim feature.
Best for
Before you go
Recent reviews flag broken glass in the river and grass near the swim entry, so check paws after a wade and keep barefoot kids out of the water. The drive from central Ann Arbor is about fifteen minutes, longer in summer with festival traffic on Michigan Ave.
