Delaware Seashore State Park
Inlet beaches and bayside trails framing the Indian River bridge
About this park
A 2,825-acre state park straddling the Indian River Inlet with ocean beaches on one side, bay on the other, and the bridge crossing in the middle. Dogs are welcome on leash on the trails and on designated stretches of beach in the off-season; campsites pack tightly together but bath houses are scattered throughout. The annual surf-fishing zones to the south draw a different crowd than the swim beaches.
Amenities
What visitors say
Synthesized from 1183 Google reviewsReviewers highlight the bridge views, the easy bike connection south to Bethany along Route 1, and friendly gate and camp-host staff. Bath houses come up repeatedly as cleaner than expected for a park this busy.
Best for
Before you go
Dogs are restricted from swim beaches between May and September; stick to the inlet trails and bayside paths in summer, and shift to the ocean stretches once the season ends. The car pass covers all the area state parks, not just this one.
